Splitrock Reservoir is a large man-made lake located in Morris County, New Jersey. The reservoir is owned by Jersey City for the purpose of water supply.
In 2003, the reservoir was opened to the public for recreational purposes including:
- Canoe, kayak, or other small car-top boat use (no gas motors permitted)
- Fishing from boats
- Hiking
On July 26, 2010 Rockaway Township unilaterally blocked to the parking area at Splitrock, eliminating all public access to the area.
